Pind Sultani is one of the most popular villages in the Attock district. Its old name was “Pind Sultan,” which means “The place where kings live.” After watching some pictures of the viral railway station of Pind Sultani on social media, I decided to visit this unique railway station type Baithak with my family.
It was indeed a memorable journey as the Village itself is famous due to its social work. Mr. Atiq-ur-Rehman was my host and the architect of this Unique Railway Station.
Stories Regarding the Origin of Pind Sultani
The famous Muslim conqueror Mehmood Ghaznavi is known as the first Muslim king in history who got the surname of “Sultan.” While passing through the village, the Sultan stayed rigid. This rigid is still here and known as “Dehri.”
After the departure of the Sultan, the Village became famous as “Pind Sultan.” Later on, the name changed to “Pind Sultani.”
Another story narrates that this area was a passage of the kings in the past. The kings used to stay on the “Dehri.” The king did so to check the surrounding area. Slowly the local inhabitant started calling it “Pind Sultan.”
Later on, Pind Sultan became Pind Sultani. In the Hindi language, Pind means Village, and Sultan means “King.”

Unique Facts About Pind Sultani Village
This village has historical importance, but the people of this village have done some unique work. As a result, Pind Sultani has got prominent significance. Let us know some of the essential features of this model village.
These features include wall paintings, a public library, an artificial railway station, roads, and social work done by the people of Pind Sultani.
1. Wall Paintings
The walls of Pind Sultani village are unique. These walls consist of beautiful paintings with some public messages. The purpose of wall paintings is to make the walls attractive and convey any message. The work for the renovation of walls started in 2019 with the portrayal of two divisions.
Now these painted walls are 50, and their number is increasing. These walls are painted with different messages like seeking education, saving water, reading books, and not cutting trees. These messages are playing a role in reforms in the village.
2. Library
The Library of Pind Sultani is also impressive and not less than any extensive library. This library is working by self-help, and it has around 800 members. Eight thousand books had issued in the last two years from this library.
The library includes a collection of a variety of books on different topics. These include Tafseer, novels, short stories, children’s books, travelogues, newspapers, motivational books, and many digests.
The atmosphere of the library is attractive for book lovers. The books are issued free of cost, whereas; the librarian performs his tasks voluntarily. All list of books is available on the website of the village.
3. The Artificial Railway Station Baithak
A third important factor of Pind Sultani village is its artificial railway station. This railway station had gained popularity nationwide in the past few days. No train stops at this railway station as it had been designed as a Baithak for the sitting purpose of friends.
Everything in this station is of railway style. A small library is also a part of this railway Baithak. It is an attempt to save our heritage related to railways. The railway station is also open to every visitor.
4. Roads
Pind Sultani village has paved roads. A signboard at the town entrance includes the village map. The placement of different boards has been made sure to identify streets. The committees in the Pind are trying to make the existing ones better.
5. Social Work
Different committees are working to promote a healthy environment in this unique village. Its purpose is to construct old roads, ensure a proper drainage system in the town, employment opportunities for the unemployed, and donation collection for poor people. The remains of a historic police station of British time are also here.
6. Website
The village of Pind Sultani also has a website running by the name of pindsultani.com. This website includes the history and information about prominent personalities of the town. Now An office of a bank is also opened in Pind Sultani.

The total area of Pind Sultani is 85,949 Kanals, which includes the area of ‘Kala Chitta’ mountain as well. The total population of the village is about 13,000. The primary source of earning for most of the population is agriculture; people sow wheat, peanuts, melons, maize, jawar, barley, and other food items.
