Rasoolpur is a village in Punjab with a population of just 2000. Most of its residents are ethnic Baloch whose ancestors migrated from Pakistan’s Balochistan province to Southern Punjab. The location of this village is in the Rajanpur district in the Seraiki-speaking region.
Its literacy rate is nearly 100%. The United Nations defines literacy as the ability to sign one’s name. But Rasoolpuris hold themselves to a much higher standard; they have all their children finish high school.

There are no children out of school. It is a crime-free village having clean streets. There are two high schools, one for the girls and the other for the boys. Throughout my travels, I have found Rasoolpur as the most interesting. Rasoolpur is the most educated village in Pakistan.
I have visited many villages in Pakistan, and some have inspired me a lot. These include Tando Soomro village, Ehsanpur village, and Dureji.
Glorious Village of Punjab
More than 70 years have passed since the independence of Pakistan, but still, we are in third-world countries. But today, you will be amazed to know this village in Rajanpur district is not only an example for the people of Pakistan but also for the world.
It can be termed the glorious village of Punjab as the people of this village are united and set great traditions for their future generations.
Rasoolpur is a traditional village like other villages in Pakistan. However, the people of this area have set some rules regarding governance and education. This village has also got a prominent place in Pakistan.
Facts About Rasoolpur Village
Rasoolpur village is full of interesting facts. Let’s know 5 of them.
1. Crime-Free Zone
In Rasoolpur Village, the ratio of crime ratio is 0%. This village came into existence in 1993. The population of this village is around 3000 people, and the majority are from Ahmdani, a Baloch tribe.
But till today, not an FIR is registered on any resident of this village. People resolve their conflicts through cooperation. Not a single murder has been reported until today, and it remains a crime-free zone.
2. Education in Rasoolpur Village
Rasoolpur is one of those villages in Pakistan in which the ratio of education is 100%. According to the United Nations, a person is literate if he can read, write, and sign his name.
But the standards set by Rasoolpur are pretty different. All their children complete their education in high school. A person is recognized as illiterate if he has not completed his education till matric.
Education till the middle is also not accepted. A person with FA or matric pass is present in even small shops. There are separate schools for boys and girls.
The quotations of notable scholars are displayed on schools’ walls, which are hardly in any school in Lahore.
An SSP, Arif Nawaz, appreciated the people of Rasoolpur’s love for education in his words that “A cat of Rasoolpur is also graduated.”
The educated people of this village are devoting their services to Pakistan and foreign countries.
3. Governance
The Governance Model of Rasoolpur is also unique, and this village has a proper cleanliness system. A Rasoolpur Development Society (RDS) is working which consists of youngsters.
These people collect 200 rupees from each home and ensure cleanliness in the entire village.
4. Decision-Making in Rasoolpur
This village also has a unique quality to promote women’s empowerment. They are also involved in the decision-making process in the house.
This quality is unique in any other village in Pakistan. In Rasool Pur village, women, engineers, and doctors are also present.
5. No Smoking Area
As you enter the village, a rest area is available for the visitors. The whole town is a non-smoking area. Cigarettes and Pan are also not allowed. Previously, no hotel was there in the village, but now a hotel is also constructed where tea is available.
Previously tea was also banned here. The people of the village are not allowed to drink tea. Instead, they use milk and lassi in excess amounts. No other person from outside can purchase land here.
This village gives us a lesson that education is the most significant Pakistan power even today. Because if you have the education, then crimes will die, and every area will become Rasoolpur.
