Sand has importance in human life. If someone creates art with sand, it adds more value to it. The artists draw such structures near the sea on the wet sand. Three young artists on the Juddi Beach of Pasni, Balochistan make such designs that anyone hardly makes in Pakistan. Pasni Sand Art is winning hearts across Pakistan.

These three friends Zubair Mukhtar, Hussain Zeb, and Bahar Ali claim to be the first sand artists to introduce 3D art in Pakistan at Pasni beach.

There are two types of sculpting drawn with sand. One is simply molding sand to create objects, and the other is 3D designs.
During my visit to pasni, I requested them to create one design. These friends accepted my request and made a geometrical pattern for me. These friends have created appealing 3D artworks in the past. They have modified Pasni’s beach into sprawling paintings.
They draw the design firstly on paper. Then after elaborating on each point, the next step is to start drawing it on the sand. These friends have also distributed their work. 3D sand art and geometrical design are the two types that can be drawn on sand.
We can see such Sand patterns in Europe and New Zealand, and now these are also seen on the beaches of Balochistan. These designs are temporary, and the water layers afterward remove them.
Zubair Mukhtar is an art teacher at a government school in Pasni and leads his team. He says he learned this art from the internet and then trained himself.
Two to four hours are required to make such a design. These friends also try to convey some message through their designs.
These friends are the first to beautify pasni beach since discovering his passion for open-air sculpting.
This pasni sand art proves that Balochistan is beautiful and has skilled people who show their work to the world. They are also showing the beautiful beaches of Balochistan to the world through their work. They have made doors, houses, water bottles, and various products in 3D sand art. Using contrast in light, the artists also create 3D work that appears almost life-like when photographed or seen from a distance.
These sand artists of pasni are working without any support. Interestingly, these friends have no proper tools to create these unique pieces as the artists only use sticks.
In Balochistan now, it has become an art. The beach of pasni is more suitable than other beaches for the purpose.
Many do not realize that creating sand art is a race against the tide. Though a sea wave washes away these sand creations within hours, indoor sand sculptures can last up to a year.
They started this work in 2012 and added ideas from themselves. They are also promoting Baloch tradition through their sand art. Constructing sand art on the beach also tells people that Balochistan has beautiful beaches and is very adorable.
The photos of the pasni sand artists were shared widely on social media in 2017. People from all over the country appreciated the creative effort of these young men.
With this sand art, the local artists have put their talent on display and highlighted the stunning beaches and rich culture of Pakistan’s largest Balochistan province, known more often for its political and social disturbance.
The three friends hope to display their skills in different regions of Pakistan and worldwide.
I had a fantastic experience witnessing these sand artists drawing these designs in front of me. The pictures were shared and got viral on social media. Chief Minister Balochistan also shared my photos on his Twitter handle.
