Who is Palwa

I’m Abdur Rehman Palwa, and travel has been my passion since 2016. From the moment I first hit the road on a motorbike, I realized how diverse and beautiful Pakistan truly is. Over the years, I’ve traveled solo, on a bicycle, and now with my wife and kid, exploring every corner of my country. Among all the places I’ve visited, Balochistan has always left a deep impression on me with its rugged landscapes, welcoming people, and untold stories.

During my journeys, I’ve learned that travel is not just about moving from one place to another,it’s about connecting with people, understanding cultures, and pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone.

My Early Life and How Travel Found Me

I grew up in Karachi, Sindh, and later earned a BA (Honors) in Philosophy from Government College University, Lahore. My teachers shaped my thinking and inspired me to chase my dreams.

The travel bug first hit me while I was working in a media house in 2016. Short motorbike trips around Pakistan opened my eyes to the country’s incredible diversity. I realized that travel could be a way to truly understand Pakistan’s people, history, and culture. You can explore more of my Pakistan travel stories here.

Abdur Rehman Palwa Dream Bicycle Journey Across Pakistan

In 2017, I embarked on my dream journey: cycling 21,571 km across Pakistan in 186 days. I started from Lahore, traveled through Gilgit-Baltistan, KPK, Balochistan, Sindh, and finally returned to Lahore.

Balochistan was unforgettable. The landscapes are raw and untouched, from the deserts to the mountains, and the local villages, like Dureji, reflect resilience and simplicity. Even in Sindh, villages like Tando Soomro taught me lessons about sustainable living that governments could learn from.

Traveling With My Family

Since 2018, my wife and I have been traveling together on a motorbike. Balochistan’s sunsets in Gwadar, Jiwani, Barkhan, Nushki, and Zangi Nawar have been some of our favorite moments. We create videos to showcase the positive side of Pakistan and inspire others to explore safely.

In 2021, one of my photos at the Gwadar cricket stadium went viral and was featured on ESPN Cricket Info. My travels have also been covered by BBC Urdu, Voice of America, Gulf News, and many Pakistani news channels.

Cycling Along the Indus River

Recently, I completed a 75-day cycling journey along the Indus River, starting from Skardu and ending in Kharochan, Sindh. This trip tested my endurance but also brought me closer to the riverside communities and Pakistan’s hidden beauty.

Every trip I take, whether it’s through mountains, deserts, or riversides, has one goal: to inspire others to start traveling and exploring Pakistan. For tips on cycling or motorbike journeys, check out my travel guides.
