The picturesque Gwadar Cricket Stadium is an incredible model of art. After two months of its construction, it has gained media attention worldwide. It is a newly constructed stadium. Beautiful mountains surround the Gwadar cricket ground. After entering the stadium, I got surprised and spent almost two hours there.
If you are more of a visual person, then please watch the following video, which summarizes my Cricket Stadium trip in 3 minutes:
As most of you know, I am a town guy. I spend most of my time in big cities such as Lahore. But after the Gwadar cricket stadium experience, I am turning into more of a nature guy.
Gwadar Cricket Stadium
For Pakistan, cricket is considered a festival. Every day the number of cricket fans is increasing in Pakistan. Gwadar Cricket Stadium’s pictures got viral when I shared them on my Facebook page palwa down the road. Later on, ICC and ESPN also shared photos of the Cricket Ground. ESPN shared my pictures with the caption, “Venues don’t get much more picturesque.”
ICC also challenged the cricket fans on social media to show more picturesque sports venues than Gwadar Cricket Stadium. No doubt, this stadium offers a breathtaking view. Cricket fans have termed it one of the most beautiful stadiums globally. Senator Muhammad Ishaq Baloch Stadium has been described as one of the best globally, even though it has not yet hosted an international cricket match.
As these pics got viral on social media, every person is becoming a Gwadar Cricket Ground fan. At one point, these castle-like mountains and, next to it, the open ground add more beauty to them.
This cricket ground hosted its first match on 19 February 2021. It was a tribute to the Late Ali Sadpara mountaineer.
Now, this point has become a significant destination for tourists. This stadium is near Gwadar Port, and one can also view Gwadar Beach from the stadium. In 2017 the sand to fill the stadium was imported from Gujranwala. That sand prepared three pitches. PCB did Boundary lines and other renovations of this ground.
Whereas, Gwadar Development Authority provided a fund of Rs. 10.5 million. According to Haji Hanif, former president of Gwadar Cricket Association, this Stadium measures around 66 meters. It is too small for international games usually held at venues between 137 meters and 150 meters long.
It is no doubt that Balochistan is a backward province, but on the other side, it is rich in its unique views. No one thought that this stadium would gain people’s attention worldwide one day. Pakistan Army does the maintenance of this ground.
The door of this stadium is open to everyone. Local players, as well as tourists, also visit this place. We hope that an example followed by Gwadar Stadium, such as football and cricket stadiums, will be constructed all over Balochistan to promote sports culture.
I spent here almost two hours and took a lot of pictures. The army permits us to hold a match here. The inauguration of this stadium was happened by Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal. He has also shown his consent to bring international cricket to Balochistan. PCB can start it from any PSL match.
After the pictures of the Stadium went viral on social media, the DG of Gwadar Development Authority, announced that a football stadium is also in the works right next to the cricket stadium. He said they would try to make the football stadium even more attractive than the cricket stadium. I spent almost two hours there.
The weather in Gwadar is also suitable for tourists throughout the year. If you ever come here, you must pay for a Gwadar Cricket Stadium visit. The Gwadar city is at a distance of 700 kilometers from Karachi.
Hopefully, this blog will inspire you to visit this amazing stadium. Also, if you have any questions on Balochistan or my experience traveling on a bicycle/motorbike, please comment below or email me. I’ll try to reply to you as soon as possible.
